Shu embroidery(Shu is the shortened form of Sichuan), also called "Chuan embroidery", is one of the four famous embroidery styles in China.

Shu embroidery is renowned for its superb workmanship, smooth and bright in quality. It has strong expression and artistic effect.

Shu brocade represents highest technologic level among ancient silk series. It has not only beautiful pattern but also fine color. Its technology is very complicatde. Its production cycle is long flor its complicated technology, much process and difficult weaving. We can compare common silk crafts of their name. The character components of silk names all are the same, meaning"thread", such as that of thin silk, raw silk, slub, crape, damask silk, etc. But the character component of Brocade is"gold"

Double-sided silk embroidery is the result of an advanced embroidery technique in which the artist stitches on both sides of a single transparent silk canvas. The embroidered design displays on both the front and back sides of the fabric and does not show the joints in the stitching. Such a work is normally mounted as a screen on a wooden frame. A special feature about double-sided silk embroidery is that you can enjoy the artist's handiwork from either side of the picture. The fish pattern is vivid with a nimble soul and the background silk is transparent.

The reel and scorll are belongs to Shu brocade, they are designed in many sizes. The backgroud is soft satins, in the middle of the reel and scroll, the main material is silk.
