Description:
Aluminum clad steel wire is a piece of round wire made of a round steel core clad with a uniform and continuous aluminum layer. By structure ratio of steel and aluminum, aluminum clad steel wire has different grades, LB14, LB20, LB23, LB27, LB30, LB35 and LB40, with corresponding electric conductivities of 14%, 20.3%, 23%, 27%, 30%, 35% and 40% IACS (IACS stands for International Annealed Copper Standard).

 
The aluminum clad steel wire incorporates the capability to vary the aluminum thickness as required for the higher conductivity described in the ASTM  IEC and other countries' standards .  Aluminum-clad steel wires  are used as a substitute for galvanized steel in overhead lines, which are phase conductors, earth wires, fiber optic wires and conductors.The use of high strength steel wires with a thick aluminum coating results in substantial advantages compared to conventional galvanized steel wires.
