Roasting and Smelting Project of Ferrotitanium

Product introduction: The abundant ilmenite has become main raw material in titanium industry. However, due to low Ti02 grade of ilmenite, it's necessary to beneficiate the ilmenite to be titanium-rich material with high grade, so as to adapt to the development of titanium industry. In recent years, we have obtained important achievements for the research on direct-reduction technology of ilmenite with rotary kiln.

Working principle: Direct reduction process of rotary kiln is main method of coal-based direct reduction industrial production. The process of direct reduction of the ilmenite in rotary kiln means transporting raw material of the ilmenite and some reduction coal to daily bin of the workshop and transport it to the feed end of the kiln tail with the belt conveyor after batching according to certain proportion and add it to the kiln through the feed pipe. The rotary kiln has 2.5-3°inclination. With the help of rotary motion and the dip effect of rotary kiln, the loaded burden moves toward exhaust end slowly. The fuel coal and some reduction coal are injected from exhaust end of the head kiln. They burn with quantitative primary air and produce high temperature flue gas. The flue gas and the burden form reverse flow movement. Heat the burden to 900-1050ºC. The highest temperature shall not be more than 1150ºC. In addition, reduce the ilmenite to be titanium-rich material with high grade.

Features:
1. Injection producer gas in the head kiln: implement coal gasification with the gas producer and produce producer gas rich in CO and H2. Inject the gas into the kiln and use it for heat supply of reduction reaction and providing some reducing agent.
2. Automatic control of rotary kiln. Rotary kiln can establish automatic control system to control the temperature of each point within kiln conveniently, ensure small temperature fluctuation and keep constant temperature.
3. Efficient utilization of heat in rotary kiln. The kiln liner of rotary kiln is composite one adopting refractory castable and heat-insulated castable.
4. Cool the supplies with cooling tower.
5. Recovery is above 99% (recovery of reverberatory is 95%).
6. Thermal efficiency increases by 28% and 25kg fire coal can be saved for each ton of titanium concentrate.
7. Output increases by 33%.
8. Alleviate labor intensity and save one half of labor force.
9. Stable product quality.
After follow-up survey and data analysis of user feedback, it's estimated that if using this set of equipment, the cost for each ton of ferrotitanium reduces by 200~260RMB.
