1. UV aging (UV) test:

The UV aging test mainly simulates the deterioration effect of UV light in sunlight on the product. It also reproduces the damage of rain and dew. The test was conducted by exposing the material to be tested in a controlled interactive cycle of sunlight and moisture, while increasing the temperature. UV fluorescent lamps are used to simulate sunlight, and moisture effects can also be simulated by condensation or spraying.

It only takes several days or weeks, and UV aging tests can reproduce the damage that takes months or years outdoors. The damage caused mainly includes fading, discoloration, brightness decrease, phorization, cracking, blurring, embrittlement, strength decline and oxidation.

Although ultraviolet light (UV) accounts for only 5% of sunlight, it is the main light factor resulting in the reduced durability of outdoor products. This is because the photochemical influence of reactions in sunlight increases with decreasing wavelength. Therefore, it is not necessary to reproduce the entire sunlight spectrum when simulating the destructive effects of sunlight on the physical properties of the material. In most cases, only simulating short-wave UV light is needed.
