Mechanical Shock Test/Reliability Test

The purpose of the mechanical impact test is to expose the mechanical weakness and (or) performance decline, and to use this data, combined with the relevant specifications, to determine whether the sample can be received. In some cases, this impact test can also be used to determine the structural integrity of the sample, or as a means of quality control. This test is mainly for non-packaged samples and samples whose packaging can be considered as part of the product itself.
Impact -- peak acceleration is large, pulse duration is short, rarely repeated, relative to the product structural strength of the ultimate stress damage, causing structural change, shape, installation loose, crack or even fracture, but also make the electrical connection loose, poor contact, resulting in time, make the product work unstable.
For electronic products installed on the vehicle more for the vehicle environment, especially if the product installed in the tires, door or luggage position, the structure impact resistance requirement is higher, therefore, the product design stage using impact strength test technique can quickly verify structure strength level and determine whether there is a proper packaging buffer design.
The basic pulse waveform is divided into three categories: 1. Semi-sinusoidal pulse (half-sinusoidal wave): half cycle of sine wave 2. trapezoidal pulse (square wave): symmetrical quadrilateral with short rise and fall time 3. Post-peak zigzag pulse (triangular wave): asymmetric triangle with short drop time. Impact on the three axes (six sides), each side impact three times.
