1. Good economy

Advanced index of technical function, power up is 21.23—26.20PS/L. Weight ratio is 3.42—2.94kg/PS, the lowest rate of oil consumption is 212g/kW*h(156g/PS*h).

Because of there is not water cooling system for wing-cooling diesel engine, cylinder cover & body has not jacket chamber, water pump, heat radiator, temperature controller etc will not be used, so the structure is simplified, the manufacturing cost is lowed. For example of FL912 diesel engine, the ratio of distance of cylinder core and cylinder diameter is 1.3, it is same as water cooling diesel engine. Because of water pump, radiator, cylinder body and cover should has jacket layer respectively for water cooling diesel engine, so general speaking, the length of wind-cooling diesel engine should be shorter, height should be lower without radiator, width is basic same. The weight is relative smaller.

The temperature of cylinder wall is higher, the heat radiated to air by diesel engine is smaller, so, heat efficiency is higher, the economy of fuel is better. Commonly, the temperature of cylinder wall of wind-cooling diesel engine is higher 10 oC to water cooling one, so its heat efficiency is higher than water cooling one.

Because of the heat radiated to air by wind-cooling diesel engine is small, so its cooling wind quantity is 2/3 to water cooling diesel engine, and consumed power of fan is lower, so, consumption of fuel of wind-cooling diesel engine is lower also.

2. High reliability

The usage practice has proved that above 25—30% trouble of water cooling diesel engine is from cooling system. So, there is not water cooling system in wind-cooling diesel engine, so, its trouble number is lower 27% than water cooling diesel engine. And there are not erosion, air-cooling diesel engine is suitable for war environment, it can not lose fighting ability by leaking water after bullet hit.

3. Long lifetime

Normal usage lifetime of engine is mainly determined friction situation between piston group and cylinder hose. But worn quantity of cylinder hose etc important components is mainly depended on working time under zero centigrade. Because of high temperature of cylinder wall of wind-cooling diesel engine and fast rising temperature, so acidity erosion and friction are avoided in the most extent. The practice has proved that the worn quantity of wind cooling engine is smaller than water cooling engine, for instance, after same time, the worn quantity of cylinder hose of Deutz water-cooling engine(Pe =5.5kgf/cm2, Cm=7m/s) is 0.3 mm, but worn quantity of cylinder hose of deutz wind cooling engine (Pe=5.5kgf/cm2, Cm=7.7m/s) is 0.15mm, so wind-cooling engine is 50% of water-cooling engine worn quantity. The worn quantity of piston ring of wind-cooling engine is 50% of water-cooling engine.

The usage practice has proved that small worn quantity and long usage lifetime for wind-cooling engine.
