Making full use of its advantages as the professional foreign economic and trading Co. in the agricultural fields, the Co. has in the past based itself in Shanghai and at the meantime with its view towards the whole country and provided active services to agriculture, depending its correct strategic orientation "basing itself upon the suburbs, relying on the Agricultural Commission, bringing into full play of its advantages and serving agriculture" through its management characteristics "conducting necessary management services centering on the backbone industries for agricultural modernization construction in Shanghai, especially those engineering construction projects as of vegetable-basket projects and rice-bag projects". It has done remarkable work in the process of developing the urbanized agriculture and taking the lead in basically realizing its modern agriculture in Shanghai, and has set up a group of project demonstration bases and export-oriented production bases using imported apparatuses and equipment.
