CCA wire can be used as inner conductor of CATV signal transmission cables, electric wire and large capacity communication networks signal transmission cables instead of copper wire. The CCA wire in its two states of annealed and hard-drawn, the copper cladding covers only 10% to 15% of the wire cross section.

The maximum D.C. Resistivity is 0.02743 and 0.02676ohm per square millimeter per meter at 20 temperature respectively. The nominal density is 3.32 and 3.63 grams per cubic centimeter respectively with 0.03 tolerance, making the weight of the wire as low as 37 to 40 percent of copper wire what allows the use of 2.5 to 2.7 length of CCA instead of copper wire of the same weight.

Compared with copper wire, CCA wire has many advantages: Light weight, easy to transport and process, reduction of copper consumption, low cost.
