YTL system differs from traditional building automation systems in that it is inspired and powered by Nature. Just as humans gather information about what is going on in the environment using their senses, YTL wireless sensors gather information about brightness, occupancy and temperature in a room. YTL switches and sensors are battery-free because energy is harvested from the natural sources around us (solar cells, motion converters and thermal converters). Sensors and switches communicate with receivers through radio frequency. Eliminating the needs for batteries and minimizing the needs for copper wires save raw materials and CO2 emissions needed for their production. For example, with YTL occupancy sensors and window contact sensors, lights and temperature only operate when necessary. Brightness sensors allow for the minimum amount of lights to be used. Once the YTL system is set up, maximum energy efficiency and comfort are achieved.

Energy Efficient - YTL control devices utilize optimal energy management techniques to use as little energy as possible. YTL products using radio frequency can transmit a signal up to 30 meters in a building using only 1 micro watt (watt x 10-6) energy.

Intelligent - Wireless Sensor Networks are more than just on and off switches. Smart sensors collect information and send it to the receivers. Through the CAN Bus vehicles, receivers communicate with the control network, creating effortless building control. YTL Receivers have "learn" and "clean" functions, so you can add or remove devices without using software and without interrupting other connections.

Flexible - With wireless building automation systems, decisions on where to place switches on walls can be decided late in construction. In exhibition halls and any other buildings that require flexibility, switches and sensors can be easily moved and reconfigured.

Interoperable - YTL control systems can be interfaced with established automation systems, such as LON, BACnet, TCP/IP and KNX.
