Plastic cards are great as high impact business cards but also ideal for many other applications, such as loyalty cards, gift cards, calling cards, advertising and promotions cards - example:
"On presentation of this card receive 10% on your next purchase" or you can also put a monetary value on the card...$10, $20, $30 card etc.

You can also distribute or mail out cards with a magnetic stripe encoded with various prizes. A letter sent with the cards invites clients, and future clients, to visit your location and swipe their cards to find out if they've won! (This can be achieved with a simple card swiping device connected to any computer. )

Think about it, if you get a card that looks like a credit card in the mail, and this card has a value or possible prize encoded on it, would you throw it away? Even if the product advertised might not interest you, you would still pick it up, look at it and keep it...This is the power of 'perceived value'.
