Making good use of the resources of high quality limestone and water, our company with the SHANJIAO BRAND serial products, such as toothpaste PCC, edible PCC, medicinal PCC, activated ultra fine PCC, coating PCC, serves the industries of rubber, plastic, paper, electric wire and cable, building materials, biochemistry engineering, toothpaste, food-processing, pharmacy etc. The toothpaste precipitated calcium carbonate, the leading product, is a high-tech product co-developed successfully with the help of COLGATE COMPANY. We began to develop this kind of product in 1996. By 1998, the quantity we supplied to COLGATE COMPANY (GUANG ZHOU) with PCC was 20 percent of their raw material PCC. (The other 80 percent was imported from Brazil. ) By 1999, the quantity accounted for 50 percent. By the November of 2000, we became the exclusive supplier. So far the toothpaste PCC runs first among similar products. At the same time, we also supplied PCC to the other Asian subsidiaries of COLGATE COMPANY, which is in Pakistan, Vietnam, India, etc. We won warm praises from customers. According to the report by Zhejiang scientific and technical information research institute, the reported lowest content of lead in medicinal PCC is 1ppm, while our medicinal PCC is less than or equal to 0.25ppm. Recent years, many cigarette factory imported PCC, owing to the quality at home could not meet their demands. We developed the special cigarette paper in 2001, and we succeeded. Now the PCC used to be imported can be replaced by domestic product.

Since 2000, because we pay more attention to develop new product, our company grew fast. The output of our company has risen from 5 thousand tons in 1994 to 30 thousand tons in 2002. To meet the market demands, we invested 8 million RMB in 2002 to build a new production plant, the annual capacity of the plant will be 50 thousand tons. At the first step, in May this year, we will finish a new line of 25 thousand annual line.
