Shanghai Shibei Industrial New Zone was founded with the development of the structural adjustment of shanghai industry. It is a municipal- leveled industrial zone and is organized, planned and developed as a whole by Zhabei District People′s Government.
With the approval of Shanghai Municipal People′s Government Planning Committee in 1992, In 1993, Shanghai Shibei Industrial New Zone Administration Committee was founded for the purpose of promoting development and management of the New Zone. Shanghai Shibei Industrial New Zone was again approved by the State Science and Technology Commission in 1994, which is a hi-tech park cooperatively established with Shanghai University. In order to smooth the relationship between assets and investment, develop the operation mechanism according to the repuirment of mordern enterprises and legalize the investment behavior of state-owned assets, Shanghai Shibei Industrial New Zone established Shanghai Shibei Industrial New Zone Investment and management Co., Ltd. with the registtered capital RMB 30,000,000, in 1999.
With an area of 120.6 hectares, the new zone is situated in the north of Shanghai and lies between Inner-Round -The -City-Viaducts and Outer-Round-The-City-Viaducts.It possesses favourable location and convenient communication. With the complete and favourable infrastructure facilities and utilities, the new zone proves itself as a hot land for investors from home and abroad.
Authorized by the government, Shibei Industrial New Zone Development Company is responsible for general planning, development and management of Shibei Industrial New Zone.
