Product Description
The
WESTCAR ROTOFLUID coupling is a hydrodynamic coupling designed to ensure maximum safety, functionality, and durability in power transmission. It is located between the engine (driving part) and the machine (driven part).
The
WESTCAR ROTOFLUID hydrodynamic coupling consists essentially of two radially vaned impellers positioned opposite each other. One impeller is connected to the motor shaft, and the other to the driven machine. The driving part acts as a centrifugal pump, with oil passing from the driving impeller to the driven impeller. The driven impeller, functioning as a turbine, transfers power to the machine. The oil within the hydrodynamic coupling serves to transmit torque and lubricate the moving parts.
The
WESTCAR hydrodynamic coupling represents the simplest and most cost-effective means to achieve a perfectly elastic transmission since it eliminates any mechanical connection between the two elements, the motor and the machine. Due to the absence of mechanical connection, there is virtually no wear between the two elements.
The losses suffered by the fluid medium due to friction (oil) result in a power loss, which can be calculated using the formula:

The perfect elasticity of this hydrodynamic transmission allows for the resolution of almost all problems related to the starting of electric motors and the machines connected to them.

4. Westcar ROTOFLUID CA Hydraulic Couplings:
The ROTOFLUID CA hydraulic coupling is a mechanical component with an annular chamber designed to transmit torque from the driving component (engine) to the driven component (machine) using oil (force vector) only. It consists of a driving part (pump), a driven part (turbine), a main shaft, and a centering joint. The addition of a large delay chamber in conjunction with the annular chamber further enhances the specific advantages of the hydraulic coupling.
